Talking to a friend recently it dawned on how many people you come across every week who complain of being ‘tired’. It seems that just about everyone is suffering from ‘chronic fatigue’ – either that or there is a serious bout of insomnia going around.
Chronic fatigue/exhaustion is of course a legitimate problem for many people and can come about for all sorts of reasons. A lot of the time a good nights sleep is required – in which case check out this article “overcoming sleep problems“. The ‘tired’ culprit in this case, however, was stress.
Recent figures suggest that more than 7 million working days are lost every year in the UK as a result of stress. Of course it isn’t exclusive to the work environment but it just illustrates what a contribution stress can make to health problems.
So why is stress such a big issue?
When we are stressed our body has a similar reaction to if we are scared. The hormones adrenaline and cortisol are released to make the heart pump faster, giving an instant energy boost/rush to the body and brain.
The problem is unless we find some way to release the stress, the hormone build up can become toxic over the long term. This can affect every major organ in the body and frequently leads to major health problems, triggering heart attacks, strokes, cancers, stomach ulcers and even Alzheimers.
So how do you reduce stress?
There’s no easy answer to this as the triggers for stress are different in different people. If your stress is work related then obviously the ideal would be to take a break from work – unfortunately not always practical.
Exercise is a great way to release endorphins to balance out the effects of stress. it’s also effective at improving blood flow to the brain to clear out any toxicity.
If you’re looking for an effective stress relief supplement then there are many available. PureCalm is an effective liquid herbal formula that works quickly to eliminate symptoms of anxiety, stress, panic attacks and irritability. The great thing about it is it is 100% natural and can be taken as a daily supplement to help prevent stress in the first place.
Although the world is full of infuriating souls who seem to thrive on stress it is important to know your limits and listen to your body. There are many things you can do to combat the negative effects of stress which will ensure you stay a lot healthier in the long term. Basically if you think you are suffering from stress do something about it – it’s better off your chest!
